Rahaman Ali, the younger brother of boxing icon Muhammad Ali, has passed away at the age of 82. The Muhammad Ali Center announced his death on Friday, though the cause of death remains undisclosed.

Rahaman followed in his brother's footsteps, embarking on a professional boxing career that spanned from 1964 to 1972. During this time, he compiled an impressive record of 14-3-1. After retiring from the ring, Rahaman remained a steadfast presence in Muhammad's life, often training alongside him and providing unwavering support.

In 2014, Rahaman co-authored a book with boxing writer H. Ron Brashear titled "That's Muhammad Ali's Brother! My Life on the Undercard". He later released a second book in 2019, "My Brother, Muhammad Ali: The Definitive Biography", offering an intimate look at their relationship and Muhammad's storied career.

"You can't tell Muhammad's story without mentioning Rahaman," said DeVone Holt, president and CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center. "He was one of the most constant sources of support for Muhammad during his career, and their relationship was a true example of what it means to be 'my brother's keeper.'"

Rahaman's contributions to boxing and his role in Muhammad Ali's life remain a testament to the enduring bond between the two brothers. His legacy continues to inspire fans and athletes alike, cementing his place in the annals of boxing history.
