Anna Morris Shatters Her Own World Record Again at British Track Championships

Anna Morris breaks her own world record for the third time in a week, securing the women's 4km individual pursuit title at the British Track Championships in Manchester.

Anna Morris, the Welsh cycling sensation, has once again made headlines by breaking her own world record for the third time in a week. This remarkable achievement came during the women's 4km individual pursuit at the British Track Championships held at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester. Morris clocked an impressive time of four minutes 24.060 seconds, shaving off more than a second from her previous record.

Morris expressed her gratitude and excitement, stating, "The motivation was really high, especially on my home track in front of a home crowd. I am feeling it a bit after racing at Euros, so I wasn't sure how much I had left in me, but the crowd definitely carried me in those last four laps."

Her journey to this victory has been nothing short of extraordinary. Last week, she broke her own record twice in one day at the European Track Cycling Championships, and now she has made it a hat-trick of world records. Her relentless pursuit of excellence continues to inspire many in the cycling community.

In other events at the championships, Will Perrett claimed the men's points title for the third consecutive year, narrowly defeating Henry Hobbs by just one point. The men's team sprint final was won by Lyall Craig, Harry Ledingham-Horn, Niall Monks, and Matthew Richardson. Lauren Bell also made her mark by winning her first national keirin title, beating three-time Olympic medallist Emma Finucane.

Amelia Cass stormed to victory in the C1-3 3km pursuit, winning by almost 30 seconds from Katie Toft and lapping third-place Elisabeth Simpson twice. Sophie Unwin and Jenny Holl added to their accolades by winning the tandem 1km time-trial, following their victory in the women's B individual pursuit on Friday.

The championships also saw victories for Morgan Newberry in the men's C5 4km pursuit, Matthew Robertson in the men's C2 individual pursuit, Fin Graham in the C3, and Archie Atkinson in the C4. In the final para event of the night, B Xavier Disley edged William Bjergfelt to take the C5 pursuit title.

Anna Morris' performance at the British Track Championships not only highlights her incredible talent and determination but also sets a new benchmark in the world of cycling.
