Jos Buttler has challenged Lancashire Lightning to step up and win the "big prize" as they aim for their second T20 Blast title. Buttler, who recently surpassed 13,000 T20 runs, played a pivotal role in Lancashire's victory over Yorkshire at Headingley, scoring 77 runs to secure a top-two finish in the North Group. This ensures a home quarter-final in September, with the ultimate goal of reaching Finals Day at Edgbaston later that month.

Since the T20 Blast's inception in 2003, Lancashire has been a consistent performer, qualifying for the knockout stages 18 times. However, their only triumph came in 2015. Buttler emphasized the need for the team to capitalize on their potential, stating, "We've been a really consistent team but we haven't won the big prize enough. We have to find a way to win, and the quarter-final is our next challenge."

Buttler and Liam Livingstone are the sole survivors from Lancashire's 2015 title-winning squad. Despite reaching Finals Day three times since then, Lancashire has managed only one win in four appearances on the domestic stage. This year, they have avoided facing South Group powerhouses Surrey and Somerset by securing a top-two finish, ensuring one more game at Emirates Old Trafford.

Buttler highlighted Lancashire's rich history in T20 cricket, saying, "Lancashire has a history of playing well in T20 cricket. We've had a really good side for a number of years, so it's important we can make the most of that. We've got a really good team, and it's important we drive that forward, try to get into Finals Day, and go all the way."

With a strong squad and home advantage in the quarter-finals, Lancashire is well-positioned to make a deep run in this year's T20 Blast. The challenge now is to translate their consistency into silverware and bring the trophy back to Old Trafford.
