Jonathan Rowe Transfers to Bologna Following Marseille Fallout
England U21 star Jonathan Rowe moves to Bologna after a fallout at Marseille, signing a four-year deal for €19.5 million.

Jonathan Rowe, the England Under-21 Euros winner, has made a significant move to Serie A side Bologna after a fallout with his former Marseille team-mate Adrien Rabiot. The 22-year-old forward has signed a four-year contract, with Italian media reporting a transfer fee of €19.5 million (£16.8 million).
Rowe and Rabiot were transfer-listed by Marseille following a heated altercation at the end of their opening Ligue 1 fixture against Rennes on 15 August. Marseille boss Roberto de Zerbi described the incident as something he had "never seen in all my years in football." De Zerbi admitted, "For the first time in my career, I didn't know what to say or what to do. I've never seen anything like it. I come from the streets, I'm used to fights, but I've never seen anything like this."
Rowe, who came off the bench to score the winning goal for England in the U21 Euros final against Germany in June, initially joined Marseille on loan from Norwich in August 2024. He made the move permanent this summer, scoring three goals in 31 appearances for the French club.
Bologna, who lost their opening Serie A match 1-0 to Roma on Saturday, will be looking to Rowe to bolster their attacking options as they aim for a stronger season ahead.
