Manager Leif Smerud has parted ways with Crystal Palace Women just 10 weeks after taking charge. Appointed on March 1, Smerud's tenure concluded with the team finishing at the bottom of the Women's Super League (WSL), securing only two victories throughout the season.

Despite the disappointing outcome, Smerud expressed pride in the collective efforts during his short stint. "While we didn't get the outcome we hoped for, I'm proud of the work we've done together," he stated. He also extended his gratitude to chairman Steve Parish and the board for their support and trust.

Steve Parish acknowledged the challenging circumstances under which Smerud joined the club. "Leif joined us during a challenging period, and we are grateful for his contribution and the professionalism he has shown during his time at the club," Parish remarked. He wished Smerud success in his future endeavors.

During Smerud's brief leadership, Crystal Palace managed to accumulate only four points from a possible 24, highlighting the struggles faced by the team in the top-flight league.
