Major League Soccer (MLS) side Los Angeles FC (LAFC) is reportedly considering Ange Postecoglou, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager, as their next head coach. This move comes as current LAFC manager Steve Cherundolo is set to leave the club at the end of the MLS season to return to Germany, where he spent his playing career.

Postecoglou, who was sacked by Spurs just 16 days after leading the team to a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao, has been linked with several managerial positions since his departure. Despite securing Spurs' first major trophy in 17 years, Postecoglou's tenure was marred by a poor domestic campaign, which saw the team finish 17th in the Premier League. He was subsequently replaced by Thomas Frank, the former Brentford boss.

The MLS regular season concludes in October, and LAFC currently sits sixth in the Western Conference. The top nine teams from each conference advance to the MLS play-offs, making the managerial position at LAFC a highly coveted role.

In addition to LAFC, Postecoglou has also been linked with a potential move to the Saudi Pro League, specifically with Al Ahli, the winners of the Asian Champions League. Al Ahli is currently managed by German Matthias Jaissle, who took over in July 2023.

Postecoglou's potential appointment at LAFC could bring a fresh perspective to the team, leveraging his experience in both European and international football. His tactical acumen and ability to develop young talent could be pivotal as LAFC aims to strengthen its position in the MLS and compete for future championships.
